Last time I went was in early September, when I was still in my Chinese infancy, which seems like an eternity ago. We didn't have to teach on Monday so Fiona (our driver), Amber, Tim, and I decided to venture to Jinshanling - a more remote and rugged section of the ancient Stone Snake. It was about a two hour drive and it was amazing! No people, no smog, no taxis honking, fresh air, smiling sun, no wind, true silence, a crumbling wall inviting to be explored.
It was so refreshing to escape from the fast-forward spin of the smoggy city and inhale winterfresh air and explore an ancient stone snake winding its way through the mountains.
