We get one story, you and I, and one story alone.
God has established the elements, the setting, the climax and the resolution.
It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn't it?

Christmas with Colt & Connie

My second favorite moment this year (right behind that time in October when I flossed while watching Aaron Rodger highlights on NFL.com) was our Christmas party.

The FOC Christmas Party is a beautiful thing. There is a kids party which is comparable to a nine month old Siberian Husky drinking three Red Bulls in one minute. It's crazy awesome. At least 150 kids singing songs about their Savior and playing that one game where you put on all the winter attire as fast as you can. It's a blast.

Then there's the adult party where 200 of our friends come from across this great city and gather together for two hours to celebrate our friendship and our Messiah's arrival. It's like a instant battery recharge to see how grand our mission is. To meet so many of Josh, Joe, Teri, Brock, Hannah, Jon, Kim, Amber, Megan, Dani, Heitdke, Tim, and Heather's friends. Sometimes in life we get comfortable and complacent in our rut, but then something happens and we zoom out and get the big picture. The party is one of those "big picture / praise Him" moments.

Also, it was Colt McCoy and Connie Winters' debut on CCTV 17 (In China, the channels are all ChinaCableTeleVision. So the channels go from CCTV 1 - 8. There is no CCTV 17). Becca Balge played the classy yet sassy Connie Winters and I was the jolly khaki-wearin' Colt McCoy. We were the news reporters for our skit which took place in Bethlehem. It was a big moment in Colt and Connie's careers.

I can't wait till next year's party!
