I went to Starbucks after school today. I bought my coffee for 15 元 and parked my rear in a wooden chair and explored Romans.
Romans is like a manly stout, tiramisu, French-silk pie, and espresso - it is so rich and strong you can only ingest a little at a time. I could have spent 3 months reading and re-reading chapter 8. Paul unleashes some vicious, relentless, if-less grace.
"For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, 'Abba Father.'" (8:15)
Wow! If that isn't a Red Bull for your soul, I don't know what is...
That Spirit of sonship (capital "S"...) is a gift, not something we earn. And the benefit of this gift is freedom, forgiveness, and a Father.
That is mind-numbingly beautiful.
