My People,
To borrow a timeless line, "I'll be back." Thank you Arnie...
I've decided to come back to Beijing for another year. Actually, I was convinced I'd come back to China for a second year all the back in October.
This life is too great here in 北京 (Beijing) to abandon after 10 months. I feel God pulling me back. I already have roots here - so many loving Chinese friends, a school where I'm respected and I love the kids (I'll be teaching the same 440 kiddos as 8th graders next year (we'll see what a summer of puberty does for classroom management)), I'm starting to grasp the language, and the Holy Spirit is raining down here like I've never seen elsewhere. People are so incredibly thirsty for the Gospel and I love to tell the story that begins like this, "It is finished."
I'll be back ... and I hope your prayers and our friendship don't dwindle despite the distance.
In our Risen King,
- m -
May He bless your next year even more than he has this one!
