We get one story, you and I, and one story alone.
God has established the elements, the setting, the climax and the resolution.
It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn't it?

Dylan's Dogs

Dylan in her element. You can see some of my pictures
I put on the wall for decoration. I guess you could say I'm
the assistant to the interior decorator.
Move over Chipotle, Dylan's is my favorite restaurant on the planet.

Dylan and her sister An Hong are like my big sisters here in the Jing. I eat there roughly 5.3 times per week. When I walk inside I feel like I'm walking into my Mom's kitchen. But unlike my Mom's kitchen, I would never walk into Dylan's barefoot. Also, Dylan's is so small, the biggest vehicle you could fit inside would be a VW Rabbit. Also, Dylan's was in America it would be on one of those lame local TV investigations, "Dirty Dining."

But I could care less about cleanliness. I love my sisters and they love me.

I made the mistake of trying to pet this one. I've named him
Rush Limbaugh. Same thing happened when I tried to pet Rush.
There are always at least three stray dogs in the restaurant at one time. They've found a home here because Dylan and An Hong are so compassionate and caring. They have a bowl of water outside and scraps for them to eat. These sisters see these dogs not as a nuisance but in need. I guess they see me in the same way.

Just today I went in for lunch and An Hong was pouring milk for a little kitten in a cardboard box. I'm no veterinarian, but I think the kitten was blind. It had eye-boogers pasting it's face. And slowly blinked with an emptiness in her eyes - like me in Mr. Steiner's trig class senior year. An Hong said she found it in the bed of her three wheeler (they use to buy vegetables). Someone must have dumped this "useless" blind kitten there. Well, they couldn't have dumped it in a better home.

This one I like to call Charles Barkley. Not sure why...
I'm getting read to go home in less than three weeks. I can't wait for my Mom's cooking - cheese, fresh salads, cookies with gushy middle, popcorn, steak and cheese. But it sure makes not being home less lonely when you are adopted by two sisters who have a soft spot for strays.
